오늘은 토익스피킹에서 헷갈리기 쉬운 표현들을 

공부해보려고 해요! 

토익스피킹 시험 준비하는 분들 여기 주목해주세요~ 

 

 

floor/ground 

foor : '방'과 같은 실내의 마루, 바닥 

ground : '땅'과 같은 실외의 지면, 땅바닥 

 

ex) She bent to retrieve her galsses from the floor.

      He was busy pegging his tent to the ground.

 

 

 

see/look/watch

see: 그냥 눈에 보이는 것을 볼 때 

look : 의도적으로 시선을 특정한 곳에 두어 볼 때 

watch : 영화, TV 등 시간과 관심을 갖고 무언가를 볼 때 

 

ex) The children squealed with delight when they saw the puppy.

       I haven't had time to llok at the papers yet.

       They sometimes meet up to chill out and watch a movie.

 

 

house/home

house : 주로 집, 주택 등 물리적 의미의 집 

home : 주로 가정, 고향, 보금자리 등 정서적 의미가 포함된 집 

 

ex) How far is it to your house from here?

      While traveling she missed the comforts of home.

 

 

among/between 

among : 3가지 이상 사이에 있을 때 

between : 2가지 사이에 있을 때 

 

ex) The EU presidency ratates among the members.

      We slung a hammock between two trees.

 

 

by/untill 

by : 특정 시점까지 동작이 일어나기만 하면 될 때 

until : 특정 시점까지 동작이 지속되어야 할 때 

 

ex) I should submit the sales report by tomorrow.

      Stir in the milk until the sauce thickens.
